Being a SQLServerPedia Editor means:

Keeping an Eye On Your Section

You want to be aware of what happens in your section. If you use an RSS reader, add this RSS feed:

http://sqlserverpedia.com/w/index.php?title\x3dSpecial:RecentChanges\x26feed\x3datom

If you don't use an RSS reader, check out the free Google Reader:

http://www.google.com/reader/

Then, whenever anybody makes a change to a web page, your RSS reader will show something like this:

 full

From top to bottom, here's how to read that:

  • Editors - the name of the article being changed. In this case, it's the list of editors.
  • by Chasker - the name of the person who changed the article. In this case, it's Christian Hasker.
  • Revisions columns - the two columns represent the old and new version of the article. On the left, the original version is shown, and on the right, we can see in the underline that Christian added "recently became a SQL Server MVP and also". That way, you can see at a glance what was changed, which makes it easier to approve the changes.

If everything looks good, just click on the article title in your RSS reader, and you'll be taken directly to SQLServerPedia.com's review form for that article. Click Submit Review, and the changes will go live.

If the changes don't meet your standards, change any of the review dropdowns to Unapproved and click Submit. For more information about the review process, see the sections on editing and reviewing under How_To_Help.
